COLOMBO (News 1st) - Russia's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrey Rudenko arrived in Sri Lanka today for an official visit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs his visit is intended for participation in the 11th session of Bilateral Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and Russia.
The consultation will take place this Thursday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The session will be attended by the Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, and special representatives from both nations.
The Ministry noted that extensive discussions will be held regarding future challenges and strategies for cooperation across multiple sectors, including economics, politics, culture, trade, and tourism.
Andrey Rudenko serves as the Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for the Asia-Pacific region. He is scheduled to conclude his visit and depart the island on Saturday, the 4th of April.
This visit follows a recent mission by a Russian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Energy, Roman Marshavin, who arrived on the 26th.
Following several rounds of bilateral discussions, the delegation departed the island on the 28th of March.
