The Civil Aviation Authority says that Sri Lanka has adequate aviation fuel stocks available in the country until April 16.

Director General Dhamminda Rambukwella said that fuel required for smaller aircraft used in domestic flights is also available in sufficient stocks for up to three months.

He further noted that orders have already been placed for future supplies of Jet A-1 fuel for aircraft, as well as Avgas fuel required for domestic aviation operations.

A special committee named National Aviation Fuel Coordination Unit has also been appointed to monitor aviation fuel reserves and update data regularly.

The unit comprises representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, and all airlines operating in the country.
