Showers Expected in Several Provinces; Rise in Heat Levels Expected

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology says that showers or thundershowers may occur after around 1:00 PM today in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces, as well as in the Nuwara Eliya District.

Dry weather is expected to prevail in other parts of the island.

Meanwhile, the heat index or the temperature felt on the human body will be at a caution level in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Anuradhapura, Mannar, and Vavuniya districts.

The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to remain vigilant regarding the prevailing weather conditions.
