COLOMBO (News 1st) -More than 103 kilograms of narcotics have been seized from a multiday fishing vessel intercepted in the deep sea towards the south of Sri Lanka.
Six suspects were apprehended yesterday along with a multiday fishing vessel in the deep seas towards the south of Sri Lanka.
The arrest was made during a special search operation conducted by the Navy.
Following the arrival of the vessel at the Dikowita Harbor this morning, an inspection of 92 bags found on board was initiated.
As as result, authorities recovered over 102 kilograms of heroin and more than 900 grams of cocaine from the shipment.
The suspects had reportedly set out to sea from the Galle Fisheries Harbor 20 days ago.
