High Heat Levels Expected to Persist Until May

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology says that the high temperature resulting in extreme warm weather conditions in the country affecting many parts of the island are likely to continue until the month of May.

The "heat index", which reflects the temperature felt on the human body, will remain at a cautious level today in several areas, including the Colombo and Gampaha districts.

Similar level of warm weather conditions are also expected today across the Sabaragamuwa, North Western, and North Central provinces, as well as in the Vavuniya, Mannar, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts.
