COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan police have frozen property valued at nearly Rs. 20 million believed to belong to fugitive organised crime figure and large‑scale drug trafficker Salindu Malshitha, also known as Kudu Salindu, who is currently hiding overseas.
Police said they have taken steps to obtain a seven‑day deactivation order for a land plot of approximately 21 perches, along with a house, located in Pamahabellana, Alubomulla.
The action was taken under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
According to police, the assets are suspected to have been purchased under the name of Salindu’s brother using proceeds from drug trafficking. The Illegal Assets Investigation Division has launched an inquiry into the property.
Authorities say further investigations are underway.
