Two Arrested for Drug Distribution Linked to Organized Crime Syndicates

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two suspects involved in the drug distribution networks of organized crime syndicates have been arrested in the Kohilawatta area.

The Police Special Task Force (STF) reported that a woman was apprehended in a parking lot in front of a shop while in possession of 1 gram and 460 milligrams of 'Ice'.

Investigations have revealed that the suspect is the wife of "Cut Ishara" from Kolonnawa who is currently in prison. 

According to the STF, she reportedly managed the drug distribution and financial operations for Dhanush Buddhi and Ramesh Lasantha, two organized crime leaders currently residing overseas.

In a separate raid in the same area, a male suspect was arrested with 31 grams and 320 milligrams of 'Ice'.

The STF stated that this suspect was also identified as a distributor for the overseas-based criminal duo, Dhanush Buddhi and Ramesh Lasantha.
