COLOMBO (News 1st): President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has met with US President Donald Trump's Special Representative for South and Central Asia and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor this morning, while in New Delhi to attend the 'AI Impact Summit 2026', at the special invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
President Dissanayake departed for India yesterday to attend the 4th India AI Impact Summit 2026 and arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi last afternoon (17).
The President was warmly received at the airport by India's Minister of State Shri Raj Bhushan Choudhary and other officials.
During the visit, the President is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other state leaders.
Senior Adviser to the President on the Digital Economy Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya and Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy Waruna Sri Dhanapala are accompanying the President to the summit.
Under the theme "People, Planet, and Progress," the summit gathers delegates from 45 nations to shape the future of global AI policy.
The summit, taking place at the Bharat Mandapam convention centre in New Delhi, will continue until February 20.
