Sacred Devnimori Relics Exposition at Gangaramaya Temple Continues

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Exposition of the sacred relics discovered at the archaeological site of Devnimori in Gujarat, India, continues today at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo.

Devotees will have the opportunity to venerate the relics until 7:00 AM on the 11th of February, with the temple remaining open continuously.

A large number of devotees gathered last night as well to venerate the relics.

Colombo District Secretary Prasanna Ginige has requested devotees to refrain from bringing personal belongings when visiting the temple. 

Meanwhile, Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler stated that traffic restrictions have been imposed on several roads in the area to facilitate the Relic Exposition. 

The sacred relics were brought to Sri Lanka following a special request made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Notably, this marks the first time in history that the Devnimori Sarvagna Relics have travelled outside India.
