Three Arrested at BIA with Over 2kg of Kush Smuggled from Bangkok

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three suspects in possession of over 2 kilograms of the narcotic drug Kush were arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport this morning. 

According to the police, the arrests took place early this morning. The suspects include a Sri Lankan national who attempted to smuggle the narcotics out of the airport, along with two others who had arrived to transport the shipment to the Mannar.

The arrests were carried out by officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) stationed at the airport.

The primary suspect has been identified as a 26-year-old businessman residing in Manipay. 

Investigations revealed that he had arrived from Bangkok, Thailand, with the narcotics carefully concealed inside his luggage.
