COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo High Court announced that the order regarding the preliminary objections filed in the case against former ministers Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Nalin Fernando, along with the former Secretary to the Ministry of Sports, retired Major General Nanda Mallawarachchi, has been postponed until March 25.

The case was taken up before High Court Judge Buddhika Sri Ragala, and the accused, Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Nalin Fernando, were produced in court by prison officers.

Although the court was scheduled to deliver the order on the preliminary objections raised by the defence counsel today, the Judge informed the court that the order was not yet ready, and therefore it would be delivered on March 25.

The Attorney General has filed this case accusing the defendants of causing financial loss to the state by importing and distributing carrom boards and draughts boards for distribution to political offices of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa during the 2015 presidential election.
