US Extends Wishes for 78th National Independence Day

COLOMBO (News1st): The government of the United States has extended its congratulations to the people of Sri Lanka for the 78th National Independence Day, underscoring a relationship built on mutual respect and a commitment to a free, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. 

In an official message issued by the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on behalf of the Government of US, Rubio highlighted that under the current US Administration, the partnership between the two nations has reached new heights specially, following recent humanitarian cooperation following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah. 

Onbehalf of the U. S. Government, Rubio expressed pride in its role during the recovery efforts, such as provision of expertise from America to support recovery and providing life saving assistance.

The United States pledged to continue its collaboration with Sri Lanka to advance economic ties and trade and promote stability within the region and support the aspirations of the people in both nations.
