India Boosts Sri Lanka’s Recovery With 10 Bailey Bridges

COLOMBO (News 1st) -India continues to stand with Sri Lanka to support reconstruction efforts after Cyclone Ditwah. 

To assist restoration of critical connectivity, a consignment of 10 Bailey Bridges was dispatched yesterday from Visakhapatnam to Colombo on-board.

The supply of bridges is a part of India’s Special Economic Package of USD 450 million announced during the recent visit of External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to Sri Lanka , after India’s emergency support through Operation Sagar Bandhu.

The Official Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs, India Randhir Jaiswal said the stock of Bridges was shipped from Visakhapatnam to Colombo.

He made the announcement in a post on his X account.
