Special Traffic Plan in Place for Navam Maha Perahera at Gangaramaya Temple

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police say a special traffic plan will be implemented today and tomorrow for the annual Navam Maha Perahera at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes from 6.30 p.m. until the conclusion of the Perahera on both days.

The Navam Maha Perahera, held to coincide with Navam Poya, is one of Colombo’s most significant cultural festivals. 

This year’s event promises a colorful display of traditional dance groups, with numerous elephants scheduled to participate in the procession.
