COLOMBO (News 1st); The Foreign Employment Bureau has launched an investigation into a large‑scale human trafficking operation allegedly carried out by a trafficker known as “Dubai Sudda.”

According to the Bureau, he is conducting this trafficking scheme by claiming to offer employment opportunities in Moldova, a country in the European region.

The Bureau further stated that “Dubai Sudda” had uploaded related videos on his social media accounts.

They also confirmed that complaints are already being received from individuals who had paid him money and subsequently fallen victim to the scam.

The Bureau urged anyone else affected by the same fraudulent operation to lodge complaints as soon as possible.

It also noted that there is an increasing trend of Sri Lankans employed abroad using their social media platforms to claim they can provide foreign job opportunities, through which they deceive people and steal money.

The Bureau emphasized that it is paying close attention to these trafficking activities and has already taken steps to enforce the law strictly against such fraudsters, without considering their background or status.

Furthermore, the Bureau reminded the public that any recruitment, promotion, money collection, information gathering, or passport processing related to overseas employment requires a valid license, and that engaging in such activities without proper authorization is a punishable offense.
