CMC to Begin Appointing Chairpersons for 23 Standing Committees Today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The appointment of chairpersons for the 23 standing committees of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) will begin today.

Colombo Municipal Commissioner Palitha Nanayakkara said the process will start with meetings of several key committees, including the Standing Committee on Traffic, Transportation and Traffic Administration, the Standing Committee on Planning and Advertising, the Standing Committee on Entrepreneurship Development and Tourism Promotion, and the Standing Committee on Clean Sri Lanka.

Each of these committees consists of six MPs.

Meanwhile, the Standing Committee on Finance of the Colombo Municipal Council met recently, with the Mayor appointed as its ex officio chairperson.
