COLOMBO (News 1st)l Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament, Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, took part in the 28th Conference of Commonwealth Speakers and Presiding Officers held in New Delhi, marking a significant moment in Sri Lanka’s parliamentary diplomacy.
The high‑level summit took place at the Indian Parliamentary Complex under the leadership of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, bringing together Speakers and presiding officials from 42 Commonwealth nations.
During the summit, Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne joined a series of high‑level dialogues focusing on contemporary challenges faced by legislatures worldwide.
Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne held bilateral discussions with Shri Om Birla, Speaker of India’s Lok Sabha.
