Five Police Teams Deployed to Investigate Jinthupitiya Shooting

COLOMBO (News1st): Five police teams have been deployed to investigate the recent shooting in Jinthupitiya, Colombo. 

The police teams include officers from Foreshore Police Station and the Colombo North Division Crime Investigation Unit.

Police confirmed that the shooting was a result of a dispute between two underworld crime gangs. 

The deceased was identified as Liyanagoda Arachchige Jesu Naser, a 44-year-old resident of Colombo 13.

The victim's four-year-old son and his sister's three-year-old daughter also sustained injuries during the shooting.

According to police, the incident had taken place around 10:00 PM on January 16, where two individuals who arrived in a three-wheeler carried out the shooting using a revolver-type firearm.
