COLOMBO (News 1st); Colombo will operate a special traffic management plan this week as the England cricket team begins its tour of Sri Lanka, Police Headquarters announced today.
In a statement issued by the Police Media Division, authorities confirmed that traffic regulations will be tightened on January 22, 24, and 27, when international cricket matches are scheduled to be played at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
The measures are aimed at managing the expected surge of crowds, vehicles, and heightened security surrounding the high‑profile series.
According to police, the following roads will either be fully closed or restricted for vehicular movement from 12 noon until the end of each match:

Saddharma Mawatha
Jayantha Weerasekara Mawatha
Temple Road
100‑Foot Road or Adi Seeya Para
Bodhiraja Mawatha
Vincent Perera Mawatha
Britto Babapulle Road
