COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today scheduled the complaint filed against former Presidential Security Chief Neville Wanniarachchi, who served under former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, to be taken up on June 9.
The case was called before court today, during which suspect Neville Wanniarachchi was present before the Magistrate.
Presenting submissions, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) requested the court to grant a further date, stating that investigations related to the complaint are still ongoing and that additional time is required to report progress to the court.
After considering the submissions, the Additional Magistrate ordered that the matter be recalled on June 9.
Wanniarachchi faces allegations relating to the unlawful accumulation of assets exceeding Rs. 28 million.
