COLOMBO (News 1st): Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando says that a delegation from the International Monetary Fund is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka on January 22.

Deputy Minister said the visit will be for continued discussions relating to the fifth review of the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility.

The fifth review has already been concluded, and the IMF Executive Board was initially expected to meet on December 15 to grant its approval.

However, the meeting was postponed following Sri Lanka’s request for a Rapid Financing Instrument (RFI).

Deputy Minister added that the IMF team is also expected to hold discussions on the supplementary estimates that were recently presented to Parliament by the government.
