Sri Lankan National Caught With Illegal Cigarettes at BIA

COLOMBO(News 1st); A Sri Lankan national was arrested at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport for illegally bringing in a consignment of foreign-made cigarettes.

The suspect arrived from Dubai early this morning.

Authorities found 20,700 foreign-made cigarettes and several electronic cigarettes in his luggage.

The total value of the consignment is 3,645,000 rupees.
