Modara Shooter Arrested with Weapon

COLOMBO (News 1st): Two individuals involved in a planned shooting targeting a businessman in Modara, along with the motorcycle used in the attempt, have been taken into police custody.

The arrests were made during a search operation in the Modara area following a tip-off.

Police said they also recovered the revolver and six bullets used in the attack that killed the businessman, known by the alias “Charlie.”

The shooter, a 35-year-old resident of Horana, is a former army officer who had been evading authorities, police added.
