Controversial English Lesson Pulled from Curriculum

COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Institute of Education (NIE) has decided to remove the controversial lesson from the Grade 6 English module, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya announced in Parliament today.

She further stated that the NIE Governing Board has resolved to appoint a committee headed by former Education Ministry Secretary Ranjith Ariyaratne to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.

The Prime Minister confirmed that the module has already been sealed and marked for review, ensuring it will not be circulated further.

In addition, Dr. Amarasuriya urged opposition MPs and other parties to refrain from unnecessary publicity of related web links.
