Rs. 500 Million ‘Kush’ Bust at BIA: Three Indian Nationals Arrested After Attempting to Flee

COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka Customs officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) arrested three suspects this morning for the possession of 50 kilograms of 'Kush' cannabis, estimated to be worth Rs. 500 million.

The suspects, identified as three Indian nationals including two women, arrived from Bangkok, Thailand, at 11:07 AM today. 

According to the Customs Department, the group was intercepted while attempting to flee the arrival terminal.

The narcotics were found concealed within the suspects' luggage. 

The arrested individuals and the seized contraband are scheduled to be handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) at BIA for further investigation.
