Central Bank Extends PTL Suspension For Six Months

COLOMBO (News 1st);  The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has announced that Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) will remain suspended from operating as a Primary Dealer for an additional six months.

The extension, effective from 4:30 p.m. on January 5, 2026, comes under the provisions of the Registered Stock and Securities Ordinance and the Local Treasury Bills Ordinance.

The decision was taken to allow the continuation of ongoing investigations into PTL’s activities.

The Central Bank emphasized that the suspension is necessary to ensure transparency and accountability in the country’s financial markets.
