Ambatale–Dehiwala Main Pipeline Restored; Water Supply Resumes After 15-Hour Operation

COLOMBO (News1st): The breakdown in the main pipeline carrying water from Ambatale to Dehiwala has been restored.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) says that water is currently being distributed as usual.

The rupture in the pipeline occurred on 2nd of January, in Pipe Road, Battaramulla.

As a result, water supplies were disrupted in several areas, including Moratuwa, Rawathawatta, Soysapura, Ratmalana, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Wellawatte, Pamankada, Mulleriyawa, and Kolonnawa.

The NWSDB noted that supply was restored following an operation that lasted over 15 hours.
