Two Generators Down at Norochcholai

COLOMBO (News 1st)The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced that two generators at the Norochcholai coal power plant have been taken out of operation.

One generator has been shut down for scheduled annual maintenance, while the other has been rendered inactive due to a technical fault.

As a result, the national power grid has lost approximately 600 megawatts of generating capacity.

Currently, one generator at the Norochcholai plant remains operational, contributing around 300 megawatts to the national grid.
