Blaze at Kiribathgoda Shop Sparks Traffic Standstill

COLOMBO (News 1st); A fire erupted today at a commercial shop in Kiribathgoda, triggering a dramatic emergency response and causing significant disruption to local traffic.

Police reported that the fire brigade is actively working to contain the blaze and prevent further spread.

However, the incident has already resulted in severe traffic congestion. 

In response, authorities have halted vehicle movement along the Kandy‑Colombo main road through Kiribathgoda town.

Police urge motorists to use alternative routes until normal traffic flow resumes and the scene is declared safe.
