Nationwide “Rata Ma Ekata” Operation Sees Massive Drug Seizures: Over 53,000 Arrests

COLOMBO (News1st): A total of 53,737 suspects have been arrested so far since the launch of “Rata Ma Ekata" the nationwide operation. 

The arrests were made during 54,239 raids.

1,192 individuals are being held under detention orders.

50 suspects are under investigation for illegal assets.

1,205 individuals have been referred for rehabilitation.

During these operations, police seized 302kg and 18g of heroin and 1,192kg and 156g of ice narcotics.
