Northern Railway Line to Fully Reopen Tomorrow; Yal Devi Operations Resume

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Northern Railway Line will be fully reopened for train services starting tomorrow.

Operations along the Northern Railway Line were previously disrupted due to flooding. 

In recent days, urgent restoration work was carried out to repair the railway tracks.

The Department of Railways announced that the train operations from Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai will be completely open for travel starting tomorrow. 

Accordingly, the Yal Devi train is scheduled to resume its service between Colombo Fort and Kankesanthurai.

The train is scheduled to depart Colombo Fort at 06:40 AM and reach Kankesanthurai by 02:32 PM. 

On the return journey, the train will depart Kankesanthurai at 10:30 AM and arrive at Colombo Fort by 06:54 PM.

The Department further said that passengers can now access first-class and second-class seat reservation facilities for the Yal Devi train.
