MoD Launches Operations Centre To Ensure Public Safety During Festive Season

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Defence has taken steps to establish an “Operations Centre” to ensure public safety during the upcoming festive season.

According to the Ministry, the Defence Secretary has instructed the setup of the centre, coordinated through the Army Headquarters, to create a secure environment for peaceful celebrations.

The Operations Centre will function continuously until the end of the festive season, with coordinated efforts from the tri-forces and the Sri Lanka Police.

In addition, a “Public Support Service Centre” has been set up at the Galle Face Green premises to assist visitors during the festivities. 

This centre, managed jointly by the tri-forces and police, will provide timely support to the public under a fully secured arrangement.
