COLOMBO (News 1st): In the latest weather advisory issued by The Department of Meteorology says that a slight increase in showery conditions across the island can be expected from the day after tomorrow.
The department mentioned that the increase is likely due to the influence of the Easterly Wave disturbances.
Showers will occur at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Uva, Central, and North-Western provinces.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places after 1:00 p.m in rest of the parts of the island.
The Department of Meteorology also says that fairly strong winds of around 40KMPH can be expected at times over the eastern slopes of the Central hills, in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, and in the districts of Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Monaragala.
Misty conditions may prevail during the early morning hours at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
The public is advised to take necessary steps to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
