COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has incurred losses amounting to nearly Rs. 20 billion, due to the recent disaster situation.
Deputy General Manager of the CEB, Noel Priyantha, said that however, 99% of the disrupted power supply has now been restored.
He further noted that a number of electricity consumers have lost their homes as a result of the disaster.
All damaged transmission systems have also been fully restored at present.
According to the CEB, the total number of power outages reported islandwide due to the disaster stands at approximately 4.1 million.
