Special Advance Allowance of Up to Rs. 4,000 Approved for Public Officials

COLOMBO (News 1st);A decision has been taken to provide a special advance allowance to public officials.

According to a circular issued by the Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration , Aloka Bandara, a special advance allowance of up to Rs. 4,000 will be provided.

The circular clarifies that this allowance does not apply to any public officer who has defaulted on repayment of installments for special bank loans or special advances previously drawn.

Payments may be made between January 1 and February 28, 2026.

It further states that the amount will be recovered in ten equal monthly installments, with interest charged at an annual rate of 8 percent
