Subcommittees Appointed To Ensure Management Of Aid

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Disaster Management Committee, which met at the Ministry of Defence yesterday, has appointed subcommittees to ensure proper management of foreign aid allocated to those affected by the recent adverse weather conditions.

According to the committee's chairman, Retired Major General Aruna Jayasekara, the decision was made following the meeting that took place at the Ministry of Defence yesterday.

He added that discussions focused extensively on crucial issues, including creating a comprehensive data system to log all received aid and guaranteeing its distribution to the appropriate individuals.

The eight-member committee, chaired by Deputy Minister of Defence Retired Major General Aruna Jayasekara, was appointed by the President to ensure the proper coordination and distribution of foreign aid provided to people affected by the disaster.
