Authorities Freeze Rs. 50 Million In Assets Of Bathala Heen Mahattaya

COLOMBO (News 1st): Authorities have frozen Rs. 50 million worth of assets belonging to Jayasinghe Arachchige Hemantha, alias Bathala Heen Mahattaya, suspected to be proceeds of drug trafficking.

According to police, a 2.5-perch land and a two-storey house in Kirawelkatuwa, Embilipitiya, valued at Rs. 35 million, have been frozen.

The properties will remain frozen for seven days from today under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, based on the CID’s report to the Embilipitiya High Court.
