COLOMBO (News 1st): Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) in Anuradhapura have seized 12,000 kilograms of meat after it was deemed unfit for human consumption.
The Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association stated that the meat had spoiled following recent floods and power outages.
The stock was inspected after a complaint was lodged through the Disaster Management Center’s 1926 hotline.
Samples from the stock is set to be sent to the Government Analyst for further testing.
The association confirmed that additional legal action will be taken based on the food inspection results.
