PNB Nabs Suspect With 28,000 Foreign Cigarettes at BIA

COLOMBO (News 1st): A person who illegally brought a stock of foreign cigarettes into the country has been taken into police custody.

The arrest took place during a raid carried out by officers from the Police Narcotics Bureau at the Katunayake International Airport.

The suspect had cleverly concealed and brought in 28,000 cigarettes inside his luggage.

The police said, the suspect, 48-year-old resident of Wellampitiya, Colombo, was released on police bail.
