Rain Expected Across Sri Lanka: Heavy Showers Likely in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Galle, and Matara

COLOMBO (News 1st); Efforts to restore the lives of the people affected by Cyclone Ditwah is currently being continued with the participation of the Tri-Forces, the Police, disaster relief teams, and volunteer groups, as well as military and relief teams from several countries, including India.

Restoration efforts are being carried out tirelessly to rebuild infrastructure in the affected areas, including roads, electricity, and water supply, and to facilitate relief for the public.

According to The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) the number of fatalities from the cyclone Ditwah has risen to 481 and 345 people are reportedly missing.

A total of 1,814,534 individuals, belonging to 509,680 families, have been affected from Cyclone Ditwah.

171,492 people are currently housed in 1,236 safe shelters.
