Colombo–Kandy Road to be Reopened for Traffic Today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways, Dr. Prasanna Gunasena, announced that the Colombo–Kandy Road will be reopened for vehicular movement today.

He stated that the section of the road that had subsided has now been fully restored to a safe condition.

The road was closed last Saturday in Lower Kadugannawa following a fatal rockfall that tragically claimed six lives.

The Deputy Minister added that the reopening is being carried out based on recommendations issued by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO).
