COLOMBO (News 1st); The Acting Senior Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in charge of Crimes and Traffic, Mahesh Senarathna, has instructed organizers of the upcoming opposition coalition rally in Nugegoda to ensure that the event does not disrupt students sitting for examinations in nearby centers.

In a letter addressed to the Senior DIG for Western Province, the Deputy DIG for Western South, and the Senior Superintendent of Police for Nugegoda Division, the directive emphasizes:

Rally organizers must be informed to avoid loudspeaker use near examination centers.

If processions are held, they should travel silently when passing roads adjacent to exam venues.

Adequate security measures must be provided for examination centers.

Alternative arrangements should be made if rallies or processions occur close to exam locations, ensuring zero disturbance to candidates.

The letter stresses that this is an urgent and essential task, requiring personal attention from relevant officers.
