COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra met with Șerban-Dimitrie Sturdza, Chair of the Delegation for Relations with the Countries of South Asia (DSAS) of the European Parliament, and other members of the delegation.
The discussion centered on Sri Lanka’s path toward inclusive governance, stronger minority representation, and its commitment to meeting key EU standards on democratic reforms, human rights, transparency, accountability, and rule-of-law benchmarks.
Officials reaffirmed their determination to deepen Sri Lanka–EU cooperation as the country moves forward with unity and stability.
