COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s fight against corruption has intensified, with 67 public officials arrested this year on bribery-related charges, according to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
The majority of those arrested are police officers, accounting for 21 cases.
The Commission revealed that it has received nearly 6,000 complaints related to bribery incidents so far this year.
Meanwhile, 276 cases are currently under judicial review.
