COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan today and marked 50 years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia
During his visit to Saudi Arabia to attend the 26th UNWTO General Assembly in Riyadh, Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan today.
They discussed boosting political and economic cooperation, including inviting Saudi private sector investment in Sri Lanka.
Minister Herath highlighted the upcoming first-ever Business Council between the two countries to enhance private sector interaction.
Commending Saudi Arabia’s leading role in seeking a lasting solution to the Palestine issue, he also reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s support for Palestine, while the Saudi Minister handed over commemorative stamps marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia.
