COLOMBO (News 1st); The crew of a merchant vessel that experienced a technical fault in the Southern Sea has been safely rescued. The rescue operation was carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy using the vessel 'SLNS Sayura'.
The rescued personnel are currently being brought to the Hambantota Harbour.
The merchant vessel, identified as the MV INTEGRITY STAR, suffered a technical fault approximately 100 nautical miles from Sri Lanka.
14 crew members were onboard at the time of the incident.
The Navy stated that the crew members are nationals of India, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan.
