Sri Lankan PM Harini Amarasuriya Arrives in India

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya arrived in New Delhi today (16) for a three-day official visit, marking her first trip to India since assuming office.

In a social media post, India Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal described the visit as part of the tradition of regular and close engagements between the two nations, aimed at strengthening their deep-rooted bonds of friendship.

During her stay, Prime Minister Amarasuriya is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. 

The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, education, and regional security.

The itinerary also includes visits to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Hindu College, reflecting Sri Lanka’s interest in expanding educational and technological collaboration with India.
