Fresh Ammo Haul Found Near Moragahakanda Reservoir

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police have uncovered another stockpile of live ammunition during special search operations conducted near the Moragahakanda Reservoir observation point today (13).

The discovery was made during a joint operation by the Police Special Task Force (STF) and Naula Police, acting on intelligence reports.

According to police, the latest find includes:

860 rounds of T-56 assault rifle ammunition
4 anti-aircraft rounds
93 rounds for heavy weapons

This comes on the heels of earlier operations over the past two days, which yielded 1,163 rounds of ammunition in the same area.

Authorities have launched continuous investigations to identify those responsible.
