The Ministry of Education has decided to remove barriers preventing surveying graduates from becoming chartered surveyors.
Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Madura Seneviratne said that nearly 500 graduates from Sabaragamuwa University are affected by the issue.
Currently, graduates must serve in the Survey Department for three years to obtain their surveyor’s license.
The Deputy Minister noted that measures will be taken to provide the necessary facilities to shorten this period and expedite the licensing process.
He added that a discussion regarding the matter was held yesterday at the Parliament.
