Local Government Candidate Nabbed in Vehicle Scam

COLOMBO (News 1st); A candidate for the Kalutara Pradeshiya Sabha has been arrested by the Central Crimes Investigation Bureau in connection with the fraudulent registration of a Jeep.

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Rusiru Srimal Fernando, a resident of Wadduwa, was taken into custody following an investigation into the manipulation of official data at the Department of Motor Traffic.

According to police sources, the suspect had altered vehicle registration records to falsely register the Jeep.
